Upper Mustang's charm is beyond comprehension, with its rocky highland, Small River, golden terrain, and stunning Himalayan range dropping surrounding the valley. Except for a few exceptions, the kingdom remained restricted to foreigners until 1992. Upper Mustang Trek provides amazing vistas and colorful barren hills with intriguing mythology in the ancient kingdom of Lo Manthang – Nepal's trans-Himalayan town.
Geographically, Upper Mustang is the ideal location for
viewing the Tibetan plateau and culture; so, visiting Upper Mustang feels like
visiting Tibet. The dangerous routes bent by hand into sheer cliffs, unspoiled
landscape, stunning vistas of whitewashed communities, snow-capped summits, and
hinterland endowed with deep gorges, and fantastic 16th-century monasteries are
the hikes' main features.
